The Mine Managers of today’s modern underground mines require a wide range of information, displayed in real time, to be at their fingertips. Automated systems enhance safe working and automation of equipment increases the mine’s performance. Davis Derby provide full mine wide supervisory control and monitoring of the mine environment, fixed plant and mobile equipment.

A fully integrated supervisory control and data acquisition system supplied by Davis Derby would include at the surface, our MineSCADA® surface SCADA system together with data transmission over either cable or fibre optic and connected to underground MineWATCH PC21 controllers. In turn, MineWATCH PC21 controllers will monitor and control the local parameters providing local automation.

When utilising high speed fibre optic data transmission, the mines control & monitoring can be further enhanced by utilising the MineWATCH NC-5 intrinsically safe colour video camera to view conveyor deliveries, pumping stations and the like; the MineWATCH FD range of intrinsically safe RGB displays to give visible messages/instructions to mine workers or our MineWATCH UT-1 intrinsically safe underground terminal which allows the MineSCADA and other computer systems to be accessed underground at the workplace.
