Meet The Team

Steven Edmund

Director APE-Europe

Steven started his career in 1989 and completed his engineering trade in 1993. Steven went on to complete a BSc at Scotland University. He worked in a number of industries before joining Ampcontrol where he worked for 20 years, rising to COO of International.

In this time he developed key relationships with clients across the world in the Mining and Tunnelling sectors, with a focus on servicing client needs, through safety and innovation.

Steven's history of successfully delivering major projects that exceeded safety benchmarks, and that was delivered on time and to budget in a number of markets across the world, ensured long-term customer and supplier relationships. It is the values that Steven brings alongside his commitment to see this new business succeed. His skills in developing new business by understanding project requirements, critical supply solutions that can utilise existing customers stranded assets and ensuring ongoing viability of decisions is an asset to clients

Duncan McMillan

Product Designer APE-Europe

Duncan has recently joined the APE-Europe team as of 2024. He started his career by achieving a BSc (hons) in Product Design and Innovation at Teesside University in 2021. Shortly after graduating, he made his way into the steel detailing industry where he designed solutions for some of the leading steel providers in the UK.

Duncan specialises in using 2D and 3D CAD systems to provide client satisfaction, understand project demands and produce innovative design solutions. Among his technical skills, Duncan can engage with client’s needs and provide useful insight to ongoing projects. With a dedication to delivering successful projects in the past, he shows to continue ensuring client projects are completed with coherence, within budget and delivered as effectively as possible.

Originating from Sydney, Australia, Abby was the General Manager of an ASX listed company - BRW’s 21st fastest growing company, then was head-hunted by international conglomerate to overview sales & business strategy.

Whilst leaving big business was never on the agenda, a move to the Hunter Valley afforded time for raising her son, and she dedicated time to her consulting business and the community; as the Chair of the Maitland Hospital Health committee she was awarded HNEHealth Excellence Award (x2), was a finalist in the Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards and remains a wildlife rescuer.

Consulting across numerous prestigious brands in the Hunter Valley, Covid restrictions lead to a business idea between Abby & Andrew Cockbain. It was the start of Australian Power Equipment, and the growth of this company has been led by the extensive sales and networks of Andrew, and the business prowess of Abby. They then went on to form APE-Europe with Steven Edmund. Abby is now dedicated to seeing the ongoing success of Australian Power Equipment and APE-Europe, and is passionate about pursuing all angles of sustainability and community investment alongside that business growth.

Andrew started his career in 1983 and completed his electrical trade in 1987. He worked in a number of industries before joining Ampcontrol where he worked for 32years. In this time he developed key relationships with clients across Power Generation resources, Tunnelling, Utilities and Energy sectors both locally and internationally with a focus on servicing client needs through safety, innovation and removing frustrations

It is these values that Andrew brings alongside his commitment to see this new business succeed. His skills in developing new business by understanding project requirements, critical supply solutions that can utilise existing customers stranded assets and ensuring ongoing viability of decisions is an asset to clients.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia & on the Australian National Engineers Register.
